What is Amatsu?
Amatsu is a holistic Japanese Therapy that has evolved over the past 5000 years. It is influenced by Chinese , Korean as well as other oriental sciences and philosophies. It was brought to Ireland about 20 years ago and has since been growing to reach most areas of Ireland.
In Amatsu we seek to balance the whole body , rather than just treating the symptoms that the patient arrives with. This is seen as a holistic approach to healing and this allows the body to recover from whatever ailment is inhibiting it in a natural way. I use many release techniques , some are gentle and others go quite deep in order to restore the blood and lymph flow in the affected areas of the body.
As the whole body is balanced we are trained in many ways to determine the areas of weakness:
- Muscle testing is used to find the muscles which are weak or not functioning properly
- Cranial balancing is utilised at the end of treatments in order to leave the head balanced at the top of the spine
- Seitai which is limb re patterning is used to take the strain off the tendons and ligaments, which in turn restores the natural movement to the areas of strain
- Anma which is a form of Japanese massage is used on its own or with Seitai helps to get rid of areas of tension and tightness, in order to restore the normal flow of blood and lymph
